The day that falls after the Chaitra Navratri is known as Kamada Ekadashi. Thus, people also call it Chaitra Shukla Ekadashi. In the Hindu religion, Kamada Ekadashi is the day to worship Lord Krishna, another Avatar of Lord Vishnu. This day is celebrated in the Chaitra month on the 11th day of the waxing moon. The Kamada Ekadashi has great importance in Hinduism as it is the first Ekadashi that comes after the Hindu Nav Varsh or Hindu New Year.

People believe that Lord Krishna shared the importance and benefits of Kamada Ekadashi Katha to the eldest Pandava and King of Indraprastha, Yudhisthir.
